Beth Brooke launched her new poetry collection 'A Long Way Down' from Dempsey & Windle publishers online this week. It was a wonderful evening with Beth delivering her work with her usual panache.
Beth's collection explores her relationship with her Father, who was in the Armed Forces, his PTSD, their continental moves with his postings and family life. Nuanced and worldly, with beautiful phrasing and precious insight, its the collection of a generous daughter.
Wonderful evening at the online launch of Black Bough's 'In flight' edition, which I guest edited. It was lovely to host over 30 poets who read their poems from the anthology and the open as mic as well. I shared the selection process, talked emerging themes, companion artwork, flight, and poetry in the time of global conflict.
Thanks to Matthew MC Smith for arranging and intro-ing.
A great day in Swansea for Matthew M. C. Smith's, editor at Black Bough Poetry, book launch in the local tap room.
A fantastic turn out at Chapter meant the anthology launch was held in the Seligman Theatre. Claire Syder introduced the collection and each of the nine authors read to the audience. It was a lovely event, with a great turn out.
I was blown away by Christina‘s readings at a poetry evening, hosted by Griffin Books, in Penarth, alongside with Helen Calcutt. Her delivery and emotion were so affecting. Couldn’t wait to bring her poetry collection home ‘More than you were’.
As part of The Dipping Pool anthology launch, we have a reading event as part of the Made in Roath Arts Festival.
